Frequently Asked Questions

Is RustFinder free?

Yes, completely free. No premium tiers, no hidden fees. Sign in and start tracking.

How often is player status updated?

Every 3 minutes. A "joined" alert arrives within a few minutes; a "left" alert waits up to 10 minutes, so a brief disconnect doesn't send a false "left" and "joined" pair.

How many players can I track?

You can track up to 3 players at the same time. You can change who you're tracking at any time.

What data sources does RustFinder use?

Player activity data comes from BattleMetrics API. Profile info, combat stats, and ban data come from the Steam API.

Do I need a BattleMetrics account?

No. RustFinder uses its own BattleMetrics API token. Just sign in with Google or Steam and search.

Is RustFinder finished?

Not yet — RustFinder is in beta and under active development. Everything listed above works today, and new features are added regularly. If you hit a bug or have an idea, get in touch.
